With standard NTSC video (the US standard) these images ║ ║represent 1/60th of a second each. To create a full NTSC frame, two &# 49;/60th║ ║of a second images are interlaced together, creating one 1/30th of a s e ║ ║cond composite NTSC image. The images are interlaced in the following ║ ║manner. The first image comprises all the odd lines of the composite image║ ║while the second image comprises all the even lines of the composite ║ ║image. If there is any motion in the i mages, the image will be offset on ║ ║every other line. Interleave extracts the two separate images and fills i n║ ║the missing lines. It can also be used to put two separate images together║ ║to form a single composite image.
